We are excited to have you a part of the Karma team! To get a gig at Karma, first and foremost you must have a 100% completed profile. With that done, here are some tips to increase your chances of getting a gig; ensure your profile is complete with high-quality photos, relevant experience, and necessary certifications. When applying, highlight your experience in the application text box and apply for all available dates in multi-day projects. Since gigs are competitive, optimizing your profile with a professional bio, a video reel, and highlighting special skills can make you stand out. Lastly, stay active, responsive, and professional to improve your visibility to recruiters. If you have a completed profile, and still have questions, you can reach out on our website 'contact us', under Payment & HR Support form to contact our human resources team.
Please note that we do our hiring only through the Karma App platform. You can apply and add any relevant experience by following these simple steps:
(1) Open the Karma Casting App.
(2) Click on "Apply".
(3) You need to select a project, then
(4) Click on "Apply to...".
(5) Add any relevant experience you want highlighted into the text box.
Technically you cannot apply to any gigs unless your profile is complete. There may be certain situations where the hiring manager may reach out to you to complete missing information, if your profile is close, and you are a great match for the gig. We strongly encourage everyone on our roster to have a 100% complete profile as those applicants will be prioritized by hiring managers when they are staffing gigs.
You can update your work locations in the Karma App by navigating to 'Gig Profile' and then 'Work Locations'. On that page you can click on add alocation, or click on an existing location and remove it.
Please note that to apply for any Karma gig, you require an active and complete profile. The first step is to download the Karma Casting App from either App store. When you commit to a gig, we expect that you will be working! Gigs are competitive, and we have selected you for this opportunity. If you can no longer work, you must bail on the app as soon as possible. This will notify the manager in charge so they can find a suitable replacement in time. In certain situations, we can forgive a bail, but this is handled on a case-by-case basis. Frequent cancellations will affect your chances of being selected for future gigs, and downgrade your star rating. Please be responsible and only commit if you’re sure you can work!
Bails create a negative impact on our client experience and our overall operations. Therefore, please note that bailing from scheduled shifts (especially within less than 48 hours’ notice) will impact your ability to be assigned future gigs with Karma Casting. Our system tracks the number of bails that have been submitted. This data is used to evaluate a talent's reliability when the hiring manager assigns gigs. Repeated bails (especially in situations where there is no valid reason or supporting documentation) can put a BA at risk of further action up to and including: losing future gigs and/or being permanently removed from the Karma roster. (We understand that emergencies happen—we’re all human! When reviewing a bail, we consider your previous work history, the number of gigs you’ve worked, and feedback from Team Leads and/or Clients. A strong track record can help balance out an occasional unavoidable bail). Bails affect your Karma star rating.
